Jumpstart FAQ
Have a question not answered in your Jumpstart? Well then you're in the right place. Look below and most likely your question has been answered here. If not, there are instructions on how to get more help.
“I’m a little nervous to start. Can I really do this?”
Yes! You can do this! Everyone is nervous to start and it’s a good sign. It shows that you are doing something new and exciting to get the results you want. And to get results we have to do something new. Because if you use your old routines, you get your old results. So it’s a GREAT sign that you feel a little nervous. Just follow the instructions, pop into the group, and let us know if you need help!
“I can’t have caffeine. What are my options instead of Matcha?”
You can have decaf green tea if you’d like. Or you can skip your Matcha tea.
“I can’t find Matcha. Where can I buy it and what do I do if I can’t find it?”
Matcha powder is the best option. It can be found at many stores. So just because your regular grocery store doesn’t have it doesn’t mean other stores close to you don’t. Even many Walmart's carry it. You can also check more speciality grocery stores or health food stores. It should be fairly easy to find. But if you absolutely can’t find it locally you can also get it online: Powdered Matcha Tea

Now if you can’t find the Matcha powder and you don’t want to order it online, you can use matcha tea bags. You can also use green tea powder, or even just green tea. The Matcha powder is the best option but those other options will work as well.
“Can I have coffee? Even if it’s black coffee?”
We urge you to pause coffee during the Jumpstart. If you choose to restart your coffee afterwards that’s up to you. However, I’ve had countless women at first said they “could not live” without their coffee, but within 3 days they had either cut their consumption down to a small percent of what it once was, or they cut it out completely.

So have an open mind and see what you can do. You are stronger than you think and you will most likely feel much better after you’ve cut down the coffee for a bit. The reason being is because coffee gives us energy by spiking our cortisol levels, which can cause us to store fat and increased stress. But things like Matcha tea give us energy while keeping our cortisol levels low. So it’s a much better option.
“What kind of coconut oil should I get? The cloudy, thick, white kind, or the clear kind?”
Get the coconut oil that is thick, white and solid at room temperature. The coconut oil that is liquid at room temperature has had many of the fats removed that contain all of the good vitamins and minerals we are looking for.
“What if I’m starving/hungry/etc?”
First, we treat the word “starving” like a 4 letter word here. None of us are really “starving” even if it might feel like it. We have plenty of food on the Jumpstart and we’re just hungry. Learning to be comfortable with being a little hungry is part of the process. And when we use the word “starving” it creates drama for ourselves, others, and makes us believe we can’t do this. So we urge people to cut that word out of their vocabulary to make their life a lot easier.

And, believe it or not, hunger is a good sign! Your metabolism is waking up and taking notice. It takes a little bit to adjust to these foods and schedule. So hunger is just fine. And remember, if it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you. People want to do the Jumpstart to get a change in some area of their life and this is what works.

And for hunger here are some strategies to combat it: Double check your water. Make sure you’re having enough. 99% of the time it’s a lack of water. Then check and make sure you aren’t being too physically active (more on that lower down). You can also use REBUILD if you chose to get that (not required for JS though). Then make sure to add as many veggies as you can to your dinner salad. Fill up on those good calories to fuel you for the rest of the day and into the next. You’ve got this!
“I also got REBUILD. Should I wait until it arrives before I start my Jumpstart?”
REBUILD is one of the few products that are 100% Jumpstart approved! So you can either start your Jumpstart right away, or you can wait for your REBUILD to arrive. It's totally up to you. Many women wait to start their JS until their REBUILD arrives, but either option works.

Your Jumpstart is the perfect time to add it in and to start building the habit of using it. The key with a high-quality collagen is consistency. So the sooner you start and remain consistent, the better your results will be.
“How much weight will I lose?”
Great question! Everyone is different so there is no way to tell. The best thing to do is to focus on executing your Jumpstart as perfectly as possible and let the results come as they may. Just do the best you can do and you will love your results. Plus, we want to focus on flushing out disruptors and not just how much weight we lose. Weight loss is great, but it’s very short-sighted. In fact I know many women who get more energy, more mental clarity, better sleep, etc, but don’t lose as much weight as others. Your body will give you what you need during these 4 days.

You will also lose more weight doing the Transition plan after your Jumpstart is over (at the bottom of Day 4). So remember, by doing this Jumpstart you will be improve your metabolism, start to get your hormones on the right track and get better health by flushing out disruptors. Think of this like the beginning of your new body and life. This isn’t 4 days and you’re done getting results, this is just the beginning of all the improvements you’ll see from your Jumpstart!
“I hate a particular tea, what should I do?”
First, do your best! It might not taste great sometimes but try to get it in. This is a detox and everything doesn’t have to taste like a dessert. However, we know that some people can’t stomach certain things. So if that’s the case find the item that’s in your tea that you don’t like and either reduce it, or if that doesn’t work, cut it out entirely and have the rest of the ingredients. That’s the first option. However if there’s a tea you absolutely can’t stand, eliminate it and add in more water during that time. Your Jumpstart juice will do the heavy lifting and still make sure you flush out your disruptors.
“Can I add something to my drinks/teas to make them taste sweeter?”
Try them first and see how they are. This is not designed to be a sugary Jamba Juice like smoothie. Although many of them taste like they are! But if you can’t get one of them down then yes, you can add stevia to it. But, make sure it’s pure stevia and not one of those brands, like Truvia, that add other stuff to it. You can also add a little extra honey to recipes that contain honey if needed.
“What can I do for a headache?”
As we detox we are pulling out and dislodging all sorts of gunk. This is good! But that means we can have a few days where we don’t quiet feel 100%. So feel free to take your preferred headache medication. Also, make sure you aren’t working out (See below) or stuck in the heat (both of which cause headaches on their own). Also, it can be from reducing caffeine amounts. This is a natural part of the process and you’ll be OK. It’s just a few short days and many get over any discomfort after the first day.
“I feel a little nauseous, is that normal?”
Most people do not feel this way but it’s not unheard of. If it happens it’s usually in the morning and it’s because our stomach has a buildup of stomach acid. Too much stomach acid causes that nauseous feeling. This also happens because your stomach is used to your old schedule and is expecting food. And when it expects food it releases ghrelin, our hunger hormones, which can give us a nauseous feeling. However it will pass in 30min - 1hr. The best thing to do in the time is to realize that it’s OK, it’s just a feeling, and to have some water. If you aren’t feeling great don’t try to chug down your tea immediately. Take it slow. If you have to, put off your morning tea until you are are starting to feel better. However if the feeling is absolutely intolerable try to have 1-2 saltine crackers. The baking soda in the crackers can neutralize your stomach acid.
“How much water should I have? Should I have more?”
64 ounces is ideal. You can go up to 80 if you really think you need it but try not to go any higher (Your JS teas, smoothies, and dinner veggies are PACKED with water and you will be extremely well hydrated)

Keep a water bottle with you and drink throughout the day. Water is crucial to flushing out disruptors and revitalizing your metabolism. Water is the best thing we can have. With that said, don’t have more than 80 ounces unless you have a very good reason to (we can’t even think of a good reason to). There is too much of a good thing and we find anything more than 80 ounces can cause issues. We don’t want to be water-logged during this.
“Am I just losing water weight?”
No, that's a myth! In fact you will be having WAY more water during your JS than you normally would. That’s why we make sure you have so much water. Plus there is water in your tea, your Jumpstart Juice and even in your salad. Remember, water is great for our hormones, metabolism and overall health and that’s why we make sure you have more than enough.
“I’m allergic to something, can I swap it out?”
Absolutely. If you are really allergic to something and need to swap it out, let us know and we can help you with other options. There are too many to list here. And you can also swap one of your daily items for another day if needed. For example, if there is something in your Jumpstart juice for that day that you can’t have, and you don’t have the alternative yet, have one of your other day’s Jumpstart juices. This plan can be as flexible as needed for your needs.
“I don’t like X, can I cut it out or swap it with something else?”
We recommend not swapping out things unless you are allergic to them. And at least try the recipe before considering making changes. For example, many people hate mustard but LOVE the salad dressing. And some people hate bananas but LOVE their Jumpstart juice that has banana in it. You’ll be surprised how good these things can taste even with items you don’t usually like.

Plus, remember, this is a custom detox and these are NOT dessert recipes. If you don’t absolutely love something, that’s OK! If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. It’s just for 3 days and you can do just about anything for 3 days. However, if there’s something completely unpalatable and you just can’t do it, then we can talk about swapping it for something else. It’s better to do something 95% as it was meant to be done than to throw in the towel and quit.

So make some adjustments if absolutely necessary. For example if you can’t stomach one of your tea ingredients, try reducing it. If that doesn’t work, cut it out completely but have the rest of the ingredients as is. Make this work for you as best you can and you’ll still see amazing results!
“Is the special salad dressing recipe for all 3 days or do I have that full amount every day?”
When you make the salad dressing it should be enough to last all 3 days of your salad builder. You do NOT need to have that amount on each salad (your salad will be swimming in dressing if you do!). However if you need some more feel free to make more.
“Can I workout while doing this?”
On Day 1 you can workout as much as you’d like. However on days 2-4 we strongly urge you to cut back on physical activity. Hard workouts spike your cortisol and those cortisol spikes make you gain weight (yes, our workouts are often the cause of some of our struggles). So take it easy, walk, and if you have the WISE program, use that. As you’re detoxing you will be pulling out lots of disruptors and we want your body to be as stress free as possible.

So do your best to push “pause” on those workouts for now. It’s just 3 days and you can start your workouts back up right after. We find the women who refuse to pause their workouts and try to do too much at once often struggle and don’t see the results they want. Don’t be that person! We want you to have the best results possible!
“I'm about to start my period, should I wait?”
That's entirely up to you! But a few things to consider. Many of us before and during our period can retain extra water. Which is just fine, it will come off after, but you must realize this and take that into account. Don't let your weigh-in during your period worry you if it's higher than you'd like.

Now if you don't want to worry about those scale accuracy issues you could wait until after your period. But that's not required or even suggested. Just know that our period can cause us to think we're not doing as well, so keep that in mind and don't let it fool you ; )
“I’m feeling light headed, what should I do?”
See the question above. Are you being too physically active? If so, cut back, you’re doing too much. But if not there are a few other things to look at. First, are you in the heat? Heat can cause that. Second, are you having all your water and teas and juices and salads? By skipping things you can struggle a bit so make sure to have all your water and everything on your Jumpstart. And lastly, do you take any medications that could cause issues, or are you hypoglycemic? Either way let us know and we can help: support@TheMetabolismCoach.com

Also, if you do get caught feeling a little light headed because of one of the issues above, stop, have a seat, take a deep breath, have some water, then add in either half an apple or orange. If you feel better, great. If you still feel light headed, have the other half then make sure to fix whatever is causing the issue.
“What do I do AFTER my Jumpstart”
You can keep going another two days if you’d like. But once your Jumpstart is complete make sure to go to your Day 4 instructions and scroll all the way down to the bottom. There you will find the “Transition Plan” that will show you exact foods and steps to do next. Make sure to follow that. We need to keep disruptors out of your system and keep you seeing results.

And if you want more help with specific instructions, including meal plans, recipes, etc, consider trying Unleashed. Unleashed is only for those that complete their Jumpstart and want more help and it is NOT required. You have what you need to be successful with your Jumpstart. Unleashed is just for people who want to take it to the next level.
“How often should I do my Jumpstart?”
That really depends on how often you feel you need it. For most it’s good to repeat your Jumpstart every 4-6 weeks. Some people who eat very clean can go longer, but doing a Jumpstart is a great way to get back on track, flush out disruptors, and start to feel better again. But the cleaner/healthier you can eat the farther apart you can spread your Jumpstarts. Also, remember you have the one-day Jumpstart. Do that if you ever go off track and have a really bad day. But don’t do that more than once a week at most.
“Can I take my supplements while doing this?”
Most supplements are fine. Like a daily multivitamin or other capsule product. However you should avoid anything that has calories, something you drink, or is a food type product. An example would be a protein shake or pre-workout or anything like that. We don’t know what’s in those products and many of them contain things that can stop your progress. But your typical daily capsule supplements are fine.
“Can I have my tea more than once a day?”
Yes, you can have your tea more than once a day. Even your matcha tea is fine to have more than once a day. However, it’s smart not to have your matcha tea too late because it will fill you full of energy and you don’t want that extra energy before bed. But your morning and evening tea you can have more than one serving if you’d like.
“I have a question you haven’t answered.”
The fastest way to get an answer is to use the search button in the the group. Go to the group, find the search bar, and enter a few keywords from your question to see if it’s been answered. Most likely it has been. We’ve had tens of thousands of people use this Jumpstart and the answer to your question is probably already in the group. However if after searching you still can’t find it, or your question involves private issues you don’t want to discuss publicly, shoot us an email.
